PRODUCT & CARE
Cy underwear is crafted exclusively from fabrics that are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified, ensuring they are free from harmful chemicals and dyes.
The Essential Collection is made from premium LENZING™ micromodal, a fabric known for its ultra-soft feel, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. Micromodal is a sustainable fiber sourced from beech trees. Every pair of Cy underwear features a 100% GOTS Certified organic cotton gusset to support your intimate health, as recommended by gynecologists.
For optimal care, we recommend washing your Cy underwear on a cool wash and tumble drying on low or air drying. Please avoid ironing or dry cleaning.

SUSTAINABILITY & IMPACT
We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to minimizing our impact on the planet. That’s why we use only consciously sourced fabrics, certified to meet the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified. This ensures they are free from harmful chemicals and dyes, protecting both people and the planet. We partner with independent factories that share our values and help us innovate with fabrics designed to support your intimate health while reducing environmental impact. Plus, all of our packaging is made with recyclable materials, because every step counts.
Yes! We donate 1% of our proceeds to the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR), a leader in advancing women’s health through science, policy, and education. For over 30 years, SWHR has worked to close research gaps, raise awareness of women’s health issues, and advocate for better health outcomes. At cy, our impact goes beyond your intimates.
Answers to your most intimate questions
These answers were developed in partnership with gynecologists and female health experts. Please consult your doctor for your unique health needs.
A: Fit and fabric are the most important factors. Your underwear should fit well, not too tight, without digging into seams or riding up (especially in the crotch area).
Breathable fabrics are essential for comfort and health. Organic cotton and sustainable options like our micromodal are great choices. Our micromodal is OEKO-TEX® certified, meaning it’s free from harmful chemicals. It’s also naturally moisture-wicking to keep you dry, and our gussets are lined with 100% organic cotton for an added layer of protection.
A: Thongs often get a bad rap, but here’s the truth: while there’s a theoretical risk of cross-contamination, research says otherwise. A 2019 study in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research found no link between frequent thong-wearing and UTIs, yeast infections, or BV.
However, the study did find that non-cotton crotch linings were associated with yeast infections, which is why all our gussets are lined with 100% organic cotton. To stay balanced, we recommend alternating with full-coverage styles like our Bikini or Cheeky and skipping thongs while sleeping (because let’s be honest, they’re not exactly comfy for bedtime).
A: To go commando or not? It’s a personal choice! As one gynecologist put it: “Is sleeping in a clean pair of pajamas any different from sleeping in a clean pair of briefs?” Fair point.
The key is breathability. Full-bum styles like our Essential Bikini or Brief are great options for nighttime comfort
A: It’s simple: follow the care label and avoid harsh or scented detergents and fabric softeners. For extra precaution, do a double rinse cycle, and you’re good to go!
A. Best practice, according to research, is every 6 - 12 months, but it really comes down to wear and tear. Choosing high-quality underwear and following care instructions can help extend their lifespan.
